Gawdin guides Swift Current to a spot in Memorial Cup May 15, 2018
Swift Current captain and leading scorer Glenn Gawdin helped the Broncos claim their first WHL Championship since 1993 on Sunday, registering an assist, 5 shots on net and a +2 rating in his team’s 3-0 defeat of the Everett Silvertips. The 21-year-old Calgary Flames’ prospect led the Broncos in scoring in both the regular season (125 points) and playoffs (32 points). After being named the 1st star of the championship-clinching win, Gawdin would go on to be named the WHL Playoffs MVP.
