Tkachuk exceeding expectations in rookie season January 19, 2017

Matthew Tkachuk has been a revelation for the Calgary Flames in 2016-17, playing a physical, two-way game that the team had been lacking. Compared to a young Corey Perry, the 6th overall pick in this past year’s draft has delivered from both an offensive and defensive standpoint, helping propel the Flames into a current playoff position. Through 43 games, the power forward has tallied 29 points (8 goals, 21 assists) with a plus/minus rating of +9.
