Steel helps Pats even up series versus Thunderbirds May 09, 2017
Sam Steel was named the first star on Saturday night, as the Regina Pats defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-3 in Game 2 of the WHL finals. The 2016 1st round draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks tallied a goal and an assist in the contest, boosting his WHL Playoffs point total to 27 (9 goals, 18 assists) in 19 games. The Sherwood Park, Alberta-native has been one of the biggest breakout performers in the CHL this year. After seeing his point total rise from 70 in 2015-16 to a league-high 131 this season, Steel has carried his play over into the playoffs, leading his Regina Pats all the way to the WHL finals.
