Puempel signs new contract with Rangers June 14, 2017

24-year-old winger Matt Puempel signed a contract extension with the New York Rangers today. Drafted 24^th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2011, the native of Windsor, Ontario was acquired by the Rangers in late 2016, and went on to tally 9 points (6 goals, 3 assists) in 27 games. Despite getting limited playing time, Puempel has already left his mark with the Rangers, tallying his first career hat trick versus the Arizona Coyotes in late December.
