Sam Steel embraces captaincy role with Pats in 2017-18 September 01, 2017
Sam Steel is ready to take another big step in his development this fall, with the 19-year-old recently being named the Regina Pats new captain. Drafted 30th overall by the Anaheim Ducks last year, the Sherwood Park, Alberta-native made giant strides in his 3rd full season with the Pats, raising his point totals by an astounding 61 points (70 to 131). Steel, who has already worn the “C” at the Bantam level and was an alternate captain with Regina the last two seasons, is said to be a natural choice for the team’s captain by both coaches and teammates alike.
