Stamkos named player of the month; Schwartz claims 3rd star honours November 02, 2017

Steven Stamkos was named the 1st star for the month of October yesterday, leading the NHL in both assists (18) and both points (24) in 13 games played. This has been a huge turnaround for the 27-year-old superstar forward, who was sidelined for 65 games last season. Stamkos has been a huge reason why the Tampa Bay Lightning are off to an NHL best 10-2-1 record (21 points). Jaden Schwartz, meanwhile, was named 3rd star of the month, helping guide the St. Louis Blues to one of their best starts in years. The Wilcox-native currently sits 3rd in the NHL in points (17), and 4th in plus/minus (+10).
