Islanders lock up Bailey on six-year deal February 23, 2018
Josh Bailey’s breakout season has resulted in a big contract extension. The 28-year-old forward agreed to terms on a new six-year deal today, with the financial terms still to be disclosed. After setting career-highs in nearly every offensive category last season, the former 1st round pick has taken his game to an even higher level in 2017-18. He has already bested his totals from a year ago, and will only improve on them with 20 games left on the docket. The Bowmanville-native has been a big reason why the Islanders are in the thick of the playoff race, tallying 62 points (15 goals, 47 assists) in just 58 games played.
