Steel off to hot start in Memorial Cup May 22, 2018
Sam Steel has been key to Regina’s success at the Memorial Cup thus far, tallying 6 points in just 2 games played. In the first game of the tourney, the 20-year-old Ducks’ prospect scored a goal and registered an assist on the game-winner in Regina’s 3-2 defeat of Hamilton. Despite losing 8-6 to Acadie-Bathurst in his second game, Steel keyed a 3rd period comeback, assisting on 3 straight goals to put the Pats back in the game. He would go on to finish the game with 4 assists while winning an impressive 68% of his faceoffs (21 for 31).
