Martin excited for move back to Islanders August 15, 2018
Traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the New York Islanders back in early July, Matt Martin is looking forward to going back to the team he got his big break with. Drafted in the 5th round by the Islanders in 2008, the big-bodied checking winger was a fixture on Long Island for parts of 7 seasons, making a name for himself with his physical brand of hockey. Since entering the league in 2009-10, the 29-year-old native of Windsor, Ontario leads the NHL in hits with an impressive 2,475.
