Some defensemen try to garner attention by being flashy. For Mark Pysyk, the opposite is true: less is more. The 21-year-old rearguard has made a name for himself by playing a quiet, steady type game for the Buffalo Sabres. Pysyk has good vision and passing skills, but is considered more of a shutdown type defenseman. As it stands, the second-year pro appears primed to line up next to Henrik Tallinder for the Sabres opener next Wednesday.
