Phil Kessel signs 8-year contract extension October 02, 2013

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a big move today, locking up their top scorer Phil Kessel to an 8-year, $64 million deal that will see him in white and blue through the 2021-22 season. The 26-year-old sniper has averaged 30 goals or more for most of his career, and has put point-per-game numbers over the last two seasons.  Kessel finished 7^th in the scoring race last year, posting 52 points in just 48 games.
