ERIK KARLSSON BECOMES 6TH DEFENCEMAN IN NHL HISTORY TO RECORD 100 POINT SEASON April 11, 2023 - Sportsnet

Erik Karlsson scored his 25^th goal last night, and in doing so became the first defenseman in over 20 years to record 100 points in a season. Karlsson joins Brian Leetch, Paul Coffey, Bobby Orr, Al MacInnis and Denis Potvin as the only defenceman in NHL history to record 100 point seasons. The last defenceman to record 100 points was Leetch in the 1991-92 season. This season Karlsson has set a new career high in total points, beating his previous season high of 82, and doing so at the age of 32 makes him the oldest defenceman to reach the century-mark for points - a remarkable feat for the two-time Norris Trophy winner in his record-setting 14^th NHL season.
