CONNOR BEDARD NAMED WHL’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR May 11, 2023 - CTV News

The Western Hockey League (WHL) has named Connor Bedard as the Player of the Year for the 2022-2023 season. The Regina Pats’ Forward, led the league in both goals and points with 71 and 143 respectively. He also tied for the lead in assists and game-winning goals. Bedard was the first WHL skater to record over 140 points in a single season in 27 years. He had an impressive 35-game point streak between September 24 and February 1, amassing 90 points in that period. Bedard is also the first NHL draft-eligible player to win the award since 2014. He expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, training staff, and family for their support.

 

"I would not have been able to do this without my teammates, coaches, training staff and of course, the amazing Regina Pats fans. I would like to give a huge thank you to my family for the sacrifices they have made in helping me get to this point," said Connor Bedard.
