JACOB MARKSTROM REACHES 500 GAMES PLAYED MILESTONE November 21, 2024 - NHL.com

Jacob Markstrom was selected 31^st overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 draft, and 16 years and 4 (Florida, Vancouver, Calgary, and New Jersey) different teams later, has reached the 500 games played milestone.

The 34-year-old Swedish goaltender, joined by his family, reflected on his journey from his NHL debut in 2011 to reaching this elite milestone. ““Coming in as a 20-year-old and growing up it was something you can only dream about,” Markstrom said, “being in the NHL for this long and playing in this many hockey games against so many great NHL players and met so many great friends and people along the way.”

Markstrom, now one of only three Swedish goalies to reach 500 games, expressed gratitude for his career’s influences and shared his excitement for the future, stating he has "a lot more hockey left" in him.
