Leipsic guides Winterhawks to 2-0 series lead May 05, 2014

Brendan Leipsic was named the first star of the game last night, as the Portland Winterhawks beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-1 in game 2 of the WHL Ed Chynoweth Cup Finals. The Winnipeg-native had a goal and an assist in the victory, putting him 1 point off the scoring lead in the WHL playoffs with 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists). Drafted 89^th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators, Leipsic was a major contributor in Portland’s run to the Memorial Cup last year, registering 24 points in 21 playoff games.
