Player Trade

Hornqvist eager to start new life in Pittsburgh July 03, 2014

In what was the blockbuster deal of the 2014 NHL draft, Patric Hornqvist was traded, along with Predators-teammate Nick Spaling, to the Pittsburgh Penguins for James Neal. The 27-year-old Swede will be relied upon to be a big offensive producer with his new club, and is excited to show the Penguins what he can do. Playing on an offensively challenged squad in Nashville, Hornqvist still managed to score 20 goals or more four times in six seasons, highlighted by a 30-goal effort in 2009-10.
