Konecny and Strome getting high praise July 11, 2014
With the 2014 NHL Draft now in the books, prognosticators are already looking ahead to next year’s draft, one which has all the makings of being a historic one. Two OHL prospects who figure to play a pivotal role in that draft class, Travis Konecny and Dylan Strome, are being touted as two players to watch for this coming season. The first overall pick in the OHL Draft last season, Konecny put up fantastic numbers as a 16-year-old with the Ottawa 67’s, leading his team with 70 points (26 goals, 44 assists). Strome meanwhile played on a much deeper Erie Otters squad, but still managed to contribute 39 points in just 60 games, also at the tender age of 16.
