Monahan plays the hero in Flames’ triumph November 05, 2014
Sean Monahan scored the winning goal in overtime last night, as the Calgary Flames came from behind to defeat the Washington Capitals, 4-3. The 20-year-old center has really come on strong in the last 2 weeks, scoring 4 goals and adding two assists in his last 6 games played. Coming off an impressive rookie season where he potted 22 goals, Monahan has been relied heavily on to carry the load at center, averaging nearly 18 minutes a game. He has responded well, winning more than 50% of his faceoffs while holding onto a decent plus/minus rating of +2.
