Del Zotto named first star in Flyers’ win March 02, 2015

Defenseman Michael Del Zotto scored the winning goal last night, as the Philadelphia Flyers topped the New York Rangers by a score of 4-2. The 24-year-old D-man has turned out to be one of the best free agent acquisitions in 2014-15, providing the Flyers with a stabilizing force on the back end.

It has been a bounce back year for the North York, Ontario-native, who has put up similar numbers to his breakout season in 2011-12 where he registered 41 points in 77 games.  In 51 games this year, he has scored 8 goals (including 4 game winners) and 17 assists. He has also been one of the more trusted defensemen on the Flyers blue line, logging an average of 21:16 per game.
