Red Wings’ Mrazek gets the start in net for Game 1 April 13, 2015
After finishing off his rookie season in impressive fashion on Saturday, goalie Petr Mrazek was named the starter for the Detroit Red Wings playoff opener versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 23-year-old Czech steered aside all 35 shots he faced in the season finale against Carolina, recording his 5th career shutout. The start will be Mrazek’s first post-season action in a Red Wings uniform. In 2012-13, he led Detroit’s AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, to a Calder Cup triumph.
