Reinhart off to Edmonton in draft day deal June 29, 2015
Islanders’ top prospect Griffin Reinhart was traded to the Edmonton Oilers on Friday, in exchange for 2 draft picks (16th and 33rd overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft. The trade sees the one-time Edmonton Oil Kings star head back to the city where he became a top-flight NHL prospect. In 59 games last year with the Islanders’ AHL affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the 21-year-old rugged defenseman registered 7 goals, 15 assists and 64 penalty minutes.
