Stamkos commits to new, 8-year deal with Tampa Bay June 30, 2016

Steven Stamkos re-signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday, agreeing to terms on an 8-year, $68 million contract. The 26-year-old, All-world center has been one of the most electrifying scorers since his arrival in 2008, tallying 312 goals in just 569 games. The Markham, Ontario-native has twice captured the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy, made 4 NHL All-Star game appearances, and helped guide the Lightning to a Stanley Cup final in 2015.
