Backes signs 5-year deal with Boston July 05, 2016

David Backes signed a 5-year deal with the Boston Bruins last week, after playing 10 seasons with the St. Louis Blues. Known for his physicality and leadership, the hard-hitting, two-way center has also proven to be a consistent scorer throughout his career, tallying 20 or more goals on six occasions. In 79 games last season, the Minneapolis-native registered 45 points, including 21 goals. The 32-year-old was selected to the 2010-11 All-Star Game, and has twice represented USA at the Olympics (2010, 2014).
