Tom Wilson re-signs with Washington July 12, 2016

Tom Wilson and the Washington Capitals came to terms on a two-year, $4 million deal in late June. Drafted 16^th overall by the Capitals in 2012, the rugged winger has steadily improved through his first 3 NHL seasons, boosting his point totals in each successive year. The native of Toronto, Ontario also saw his ice time spike to nearly 13 minutes a game in 2015-16, up from 11 the year before and 8 in his rookie season. Wilson set career-highs in every offensive category this past season, notching 7 goals, 16 assists and 99 shots on goal.
