Martin finds new home in Toronto July 12, 2016
Matt Martin is now a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, after agreeing to a four-year, $10 million deal in early July. A native of Windsor, Ontario, Martin returns home after playing the first 6 years of his NHL career with the New York Islanders. The big-bodied winger is known for his physical playing style, having led the NHL in hits in each of the last five seasons. Playing on the Islanders 4th line in 2015-16, the 27-year-old proved he could do a little bit of everything, registering 365 hits but also tallying a career-high 10 goals and 19 points.
