DeKeyser signs new contract extension July 26, 2016

Danny DeKeyser and the Detroit Red Wings came to terms on a six-year, $30 million contract extension on Tuesday. The 26-year-old native of Detroit, Michigan was originally signed by the Red Wings as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He has since climbed the team’s depth chart, becoming one of the most trustworthy defensemen on the roster. In 2015-16 he ranked second on the team in average ice time at 21:48 per game, and set a new career-high in goals scored with 8.
