Red Wings lock up Mrazek on two-year deal July 27, 2016
Petr Mrazek and the Detroit Red Wings agreed to a two-year, $8 million contract extension on Wednesday. The 24-year-old Czech product solidified his role as the team’s number one goalie in 2015-16, registering career-bests in wins (27), goals against average (2.33) and save percentage (.921). Mrazek has been a revelation since turning pro in 2012. After winning a Calder Cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL in that first season, the 2010 5th round pick has improved each and every year, culminating with his breakout campaign in 2015-16.
