Backes looking to make big impact in Boston August 12, 2016
Signed to a five-year contract back with the Boston Bruins on July 1st, David Backes is already making a name for himself in the Boston community. Known for being an outspoken animal rights advocate, Backes visited the ASPCA, receiving a tour of their facility. In the same week, he threw out the first pitch of a baseball game at the prestigious Fenway Park. The 32-year-old rugged forward captained the St. Louis Blues for a large portion of his career, and will now look to be a leader on and off the ice with the Boston Bruins.
