Red Wings relying on Green for power play success August 25, 2016

Signed by the Detroit Red Wings in the summer of 2015, Mike Green enters the second year of his contract with an eye on exceeding expectations and taking on more of a leadership role. The Calgary-native led Detroit in points by a D-man with 35 in 2015-16, and despite playing primarily on the 2^nd unit of the power play, tallied 20 points, his highest total since 2015-16.  All signs point to Green taking on a bigger role on the power play in 2016-17, and with it, bigger responsibilities.
