NHL Draft
Jacob De La Rose goes 34th at the 2013 NHL Draft July 02, 2013
The Montreal Canadiens wanted to get bigger and tougher, and after taking the giant Michael McCarron with their first pick, they kept the trend going, selecting gritty, 6’3,188 lbs center Jacob De La Rose with their very next pick. Hailing from Arvika, Sweden, the rangy forward is a jack-of-all-trades type of player, one who excels at fore-checking and solid play in all three zones. After putting up decent production (6 goals, 6 assists, +8) in the Allsvenskan (Sweden’s second league), the 17-year-old proved that he has the work ethic and drive to compete against older, more seasoned players.
