COUNTRIES ANNOUNCE FIRST SIX PLAYERS FOR 2026 OLYMPIC MEN’S HOCKEY TEAMS June 16, 2025 - Olympics.com
All 12 participating national hockey federations have announced the first six players named to their preliminary men’s rosters for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Final rosters will consist of 25 players and must be submitted in early 2026. The men’s hockey tournament is scheduled to begin on February 11, 2026.

Lars Eller is the first Danish-born player in NHL history to reach 1,000 games. Eller was drafted in the 2007 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues. Over his career, which has included notable stints with the Montreal Canadiens, a Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals, and a brief tenure with the Colorado Avalanche. Eller expresses pride in his accomplishment and gratitude for the diverse experiences and connections he has encountered along the way: "I'm proud of the accomplishment to stay in the league for that long. It's a privilege, and I feel privileged to play with so many good teams and so many good players."
